As Vice President, Immersive & Virtual Production, Chris helps connect our visionary clients and ILM’s world-class creative and technology teams, architecting solutions for high-stakes immersive and virtual production initiatives.

Chris oversees production strategy across a diverse portfolio, including the Virtual Art Department (VAD), live music experiences, and immersive entertainment, alongside ILM’s flagship StageCraft and Technoprops divisions.

Chris was a core member of the technical development and content production team for The Mandalorian. He subsequently developed the ILM StageCraft business as a lead producer and spearheaded the global expansion of the studio’s StageCraft LED services.

Since joining ILM in 2009 for the Academy Award-winning Rango, Chris has worked across numerous blockbuster visual effects projects. He holds an MFA in Cinema from SFSU and an MS in Computer Science from Georgia Tech, in addition to his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Jennifer Coronado joined the team at Industrial Light & Magic back in September of 2000 as a coordinator before shifting into supporting the President of ILM. Since that time Jennifer has held several key positions within ILM including the roles of Talent Manager and Marketing and Development Manager. In the current incarnation of her career Jennifer is the Director of Art and Development, for ILM’s Global Studios.

In addition to her management role, Jennifer is also the key Moderator for Lucasfilm’s Speaker Series, and has been responsible for interviewing such talents as Paul Thomas Anderson, Dee Rees, Alfonso Cuarón, Martin Scorsese and George Clooney.

In her life before ILM, Jennifer was an Honors Graduate and Regent Scholar at the University of California at Santa Barbara where she received her B.F.A. from the school’s Conservatory Acting Program. She spent many of her post school years traveling around the country in search of acting roles in cities such as Seattle and New York before settling down in the Bay Area.

Jeanie King is currently Industrial Light & Magic’s VP of Global Production and an Executive Visual Effects Producer. She works closely with the studio’s producers and production teams to ensure all productions are produced at the highest quality while delivering them on time and budget. 

King joined ILM in 1994 after five years of working in film and television production in Los Angeles. King’s first project as a Features Visual Effects Producer was on Jarhead, which earned her a Visual Effects Society Award nomination for Best Supporting Effects in a Feature Film.

King is a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, the Visual Effects Society (VES), and the Producers Guild of America (PGA).

David Nakabayashi first came to Industrial Light & Magic in 1989 as a storyboard artist for the feature films Ghost and The Hunt for Red October. He then shifted to attraction ride design for LucasArts for two years before relocating to Los Angeles, where he was a conceptual artist for Amblin Entertainment’s Jurassic Park. Following his stint in L.A., Nakabayashi returned to the Bay Area where he was a designer at Rocket Science Games, a multimedia-interactive entertainment company. Nakabayashi returned to ILM in 1996 as a visual effects art director on Men in Black.

In 2002, Nakabayashi was named Creative Director of the ILM Art Department, where he manages the art directors, conceptual illustrators, storyboard artists, and a team of pre-visualization artists, as well as overseeing the activities of the global ILM Art Department.

Nakabayashi grew up in Los Angeles, California, and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.

As a VP, Business Development and Executive Visual Effects Producer at ILM, O’Byrne is responsible for directing the studio’s global marketing effort as well as managing budgets and working with clients to make their visions into realities, and inspiring crews to do their best work. O’Byrne has overseen ILM’s work on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Star Wars: The Force Awakens among other projects.

Luke O’Byrne joined Industrial Light & Magic in 1992 as a Production Travel Coordinator on Dragonheart. A graduate of U.C. Davis with a major in Communications, O’Byrne fell in love with the visual effects industry straight out of college and never looked back.

With more than 35 years of industry experience, Greg Grusby brings a distinctive, seasoned perspective to the public relations and communications strategies for Industrial Light & Magic, ILM StageCraft, and Skywalker Sound. He oversees the company’s internal and external communications, shaping its voice, brand, and narrative across global audiences.

Greg joined Industrial Light & Magic in 2006, relocating from his native New York to San Francisco. Before ILM, he founded and led Thought Agency, Ltd., a boutique communications firm specializing in design, visual effects, and post-production. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Communications for Manhattan Transfer/R!ot Manhattan, New York’s premier post-production and visual effects studio.

Greg holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from the University of Miami and is an active member of the Arts, Media, and Entertainment Taskforce for the State of California. His professional affiliations also include the Visual Effects Society, the Hollywood Professional Association, ACM SIGGRAPH, and the International Animated Film Society (ASIFA-Hollywood). He sits on the Associates Board for FMX Media Exchange and is a member of the Motion Picture Academy Software Foundation’s D&I working group.

Academy-Award and BAFTA Award winner, John Knoll, is one of ILM’s longest serving and most highly sought-after Visual Effects Supervisors. He has served as Head of Department Production-side Supervisor on a myriad and diverse slate of projects, including the Star Wars prequels, the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Academy-award winning Animated Feature Rango, as well as A Star Wars Story: Rogue One, where he also served as Executive Producer. In addition, Knoll contributes to many projects in his role as Executive Creative Director for the studio and Senior VFX Supervisor. This includes recently overseeing ILM’s work on Season 1 and Season 2 of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Disney’s feature, Jungle Cruise. 

While he got his start in miniatures and motion control at ILM in 1986, Knoll is known for his pioneering and innovative computer graphics work throughout his lengthy tenure in the industry, including co-developing Photoshop with his brother Thomas and contributing to the recent workflow advancements in ILM’s virtual production toolset, StageCraft. Knoll’s extensive film background coupled with an advanced understanding of practical and digital VFX technologies has positioned him to contribute to many ground-breaking Visual Effects driven projects, garnering him five additional visual effects Academy Award nominations as well as five additional BAFTA nominations.

Janet Lewin is the Senior Vice President, General Manager, and Head of Industrial Light & Magic. A 30-year veteran of Lucasfilm and Industrial Light & Magic, Janet oversees all aspects of ILM, including production, creative and studio operations for all lines of business across the global organization, including visual effects, feature animation, immersive entertainment, and more. 

Janet’s vast experience at ILM and Lucasfilm VFX, the birthplace of Star Wars visual effects and pioneer of the VFX industry, has positioned her well to lead the company into the future. Janet previously oversaw visual effects for all of Lucasfilm’s projects, including feature films, long-form content, theme park rides, and commercials. In this capacity, she collaborated closely with the filmmakers and production-side VFX teams on strategy, technology, and budget throughout the course of production, serving as the studio executive for visual effects. Janet has been credited as overall Lucasfilm VFX Producer on The Force Awakens, Rogue One, The Last Jedi, Solo, and The Rise of Skywalker. She also served as Co-Producer on the Emmy Award-winning Disney+ series, The Mandalorian, where she helped drive the implementation of ILM’s groundbreaking Virtual Production methodology, StageCraft.

Prior to that experience, Janet worked across a wide range of production and executive roles at ILM, ultimately serving as Head of Production, with oversight of global production as well as capacity and expansion planning. Some of her ILM producing and executive producing credits include Star Trek: Into Darkness, Rango, Super 8, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, The Hulk, and Spiderwick Chronicles, among many others.

Janet is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
