Visual Effects Supervision
Philippe Rebours joined the Industrial Light & Magic’s commercial division as a technical director in 1998. He soon transitioned over to feature production where he worked on several projects as a technical director before being promoted to a sequence supervisor on Star Wars: Episode II “Attack of the Clones,” computer graphic supervisor on Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, digital production supervisor on Terminator Salvation and then Associate Visual Effects Supervisor on Noah. Most recently, Rebours served as the ILM visual effects supervisor on Luc Besson’s science fiction epic, Valerian and The City of a Thousand Planets.
As a Visual Effects Supervisor, Rebours collaborates with the director to insure the filmmaker’s vision is achieved. He is responsible for leading the show supervisors and guiding the overall crew regarding how to best achieve the desired effect and overall aesthetic.
